Ludwik entered the Polish market in the mid-1960s, specifically in 1964, just a few years after dishwashing liquid was first introduced to the American market.
The invention was co-developed by engineers Hanna Majchert and Zbigniew Korda. The patent was owned by Zjednoczone Zespoły Gospodarcze INCO in Warsaw.
The first Ludwik dishwashing liquid was, naturally, available in a mint-scented version, in a 250-milliliter glass bottle with a decorative grid pattern.
